P.R.E.S.I. 2.0
P.R.E.S.I 2.0 – Pathways to Resource Efficiency in Santa Cruz Industries was a continuation of the successful collaboration that began with the P.R.E.S.I. project in 2024. The project was an international collaboration between Danish stakeholders specializing in industrial symbiosis and Brazilian counterparts in Rio de Janeiro.
Purpose
Building on the knowledge generated in the P.R.E.S.I project, the aim was to conduct further technical screenings in the AEDIN industrial cluster in Brazil. This enabled a deeper understanding of the potential to establish more resource-efficient industries and thereby reduce the environmental footprint, with the objective of creating concrete opportunities for further project development and investment in more sustainable industry and production. The screening was carried out in May 2025. Furthermore, the project aimed to identify Danish solutions and competencies that could potentially be included in the physical implementation phase.
The focus on Brazil was also aligned with the country’s hosting of COP30, where the project participated to showcase a successful Danish–Brazilian collaboration and demonstrate to the international community the potential of industrial symbiosis as a climate solution.
Activities
The project conducted a technical screening of industries in Santa Cruz and evaluated the potential for improved resource efficiency.
The screening process provided valuable insights into potential resource efficiency measures. Stakeholders were invited to engage with Clean to learn more and become part of the initiative.
