C2K: Accelerating CCUS Innovation

This project aimed to strengthen Danish–South Korean collaboration in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) by facilitating technological innovation, market entry, and business partnerships. Led by Energy Cluster Denmark, Clean, Green Hub Denmark, and Innovation Centre Denmark (Seoul), the initiative built on Denmark’s CO₂Vision project and sought to expand Danish CCUS efforts beyond Europe by identifying market opportunities in South Korea.

A Danish-South Korean Partnership

The project conducted market research, stakeholder mapping, feasibility studies, and a fact-finding mission to establish a strong foundation for future collaboration. It aimed to create at least three strategic partnerships between Danish CCUS stakeholders and South Korean industry or research institutions. In addition, the project addressed commercialization challenges by assessing regulatory, technical, and economic barriers to scaling CCUS solutions in South Korea.

The project supported Denmark’s export strategy for green technologies by aligning with South Korea’s ambitious carbon neutrality goals. The findings were shared through reports, webinars, and networking events, ensuring long-term engagement and positioning Danish CCUS companies in the South Korean market.

By bridging national and European efforts with global expansion, C2K laid the groundwork for accelerating the green transition through international cooperation.
