ACELERA drives EU–Argentina circular economy partnerships
After two years of targeted activities, the ACELERA project officially wrapped up its activities on June 30, 2025. The project supported Argentinian SMEs in their transition to low-carbon, resource-efficient, and circular business models by connecting them with European cleantech providers.
As the project concludes, it will leave behind new collaborations, practical tools, and a strengthened bridge between the European and Argentinian innovation ecosystems.
Matchmaking EU cleantech and Argentinian SMEs
ACELERA was designed as a demand-driven initiative, with activities tailored to the specific needs of Argentinian companies. Throughout the project, Argentinian SMEs defined their challenges within water, energy, and the circular economy, and European solution providers—including research institutions, SMEs, and innovation hubs—were invited to respond.
One of the clearest examples of successful matchmaking emerged when EcoBonus Italia (Italy), Jazusoft (Argentina) and IMR Consulting (Argentina) connected through an event hosted by ACELERA and the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator in July 2024. The matchmaking was closely followed by ACELERA’s Argentinian cluster partner, BQS Green Tech Cluster.
This cross-continental partnership focuses on Construction Technology (ConTech), combining Building Information Modeling (BIM) with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to optimize construction site management. Jazusoft is integrating advanced 4D and 5D BIM modules into EcoBonus Italia’s B2B platform, while IMR Consulting is improving its patented search algorithms with machine-learning features to provide more tailored recommendations for users.
“ACELERA was designed from the vision of bridging European and Argentinean ecosystems by uniting stakeholders to co-create innovative solutions, while empowering local SMEs to embrace circularity and meet the evolving demands of EU markets. Two years on, we’re witnessing a powerful shift: a new wave of Argentinean SMEs ready to lead, to innovate, and to join forces with European partners in driving the transition to a more sustainable and circular future,”

Circular tools for greener SMEs
Together with the Danish Design Center, ACELERA developed tools to support SMEs in creating roadmaps for becoming more circular. The tools are translated into Spanish and distributed to trainers at INTI, BQS Green Tech Cluster, and Universidad Nacional Mar del Plata. While they are not publicly available, Argentinian SMEs interested in the green transition can contact these organisations for proper training.
“It was a great example of how the platform enabled real collaboration across borders,” says Laís de Rezende Valença about the EcoBonus–Jazusoft–IMR Consulting collaboration.
EU–Argentina ties continue beyond ACELERA
The knowledge created during ACELERA remains accessible via the ICN Solutions Platform, where Danish and other European SMEs can explore opportunities for cleantech collaboration in Argentina and reach out directly to listed companies.
ACELERA has also contributed to strengthening EU–Argentina relations at a strategic level. In November 2024, Clean, together with ICN and Greennova Hub, brought an international delegation to the G20 Social in Rio de Janeiro. Selected Argentinian companies showcased their solutions at the Innovation Stage and participated in panels, while side events facilitated matchmaking with Brazilian and Danish stakeholders.
“By showing up as a unified innovation ecosystem, we could position European solutions much more strongly in the Argentinean market while opening doors for local SMEs to scale their green solutions internationally,”
— Laís de Rezende Valença, Project Manager, Clean
Strong engagement and measurable impact
ACELERA achieved strong engagement and measurable results during its two years of operation:
- 293 Argentinean companies are now prioritizing circular economy concepts and applying sustainable practices.
- 11 international collaborations have been developed through the programme.
- 14 B2B sessions took place between European and Argentinean stakeholders.
- 283 employees from Argentinean SMEs gained knowledge about funding opportunities for the green transition.
- Training modules in plastics, biomaterials, food and dairy, and circular economy attracted strong participation.
Next steps
While ACELERA as a project has concluded, its outcomes live on—through new collaborations, open-access knowledge, and continued opportunities for SMEs on both sides of the Atlantic. For EcoBonus Italia, Jazusoft, and IMR Consulting, the collaboration is entering a new acceleration phase through the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator, including proof-of-concept validation, market expansion in Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, and preparation for attracting investors to support their Latin American growth.
The collaboration between EcoBonus Italia, Jazusoft, and IMR Consulting is just one example of how cross-continental matchmaking can spark long-term partnerships driving circular and sustainable innovation.
About ACELERA
ACELERA was a two-year initiative supporting Argentinian SMEs in developing low-carbon, resource-efficient, and circular business models by connecting them with European cleantech providers.
The project was funded by AL-INVEST Verde under component 1 and co-financed by the European Union. It was implemented by Clean in collaboration with BQS Green Tech Cluster, Instituto Nacional de Tecnologia Industrial (INTI) and the International Cleantech Network.
Through targeted matchmaking, training, and practical tools, ACELERA fostered new partnerships, supported knowledge sharing, and strengthened the connection between European and Argentinian innovation ecosystems.
