One way to reduce CO2 emissions is to use more wood in construction. However, wood is often avoided because its fire performance is not as good as concrete and steel, for example.

GAIA Wood Technology has created an innovative solution to this problem. By impregnating wood in a new way using frequencies, the durability of wood can be significantly increased while also increasing its sustainability potential. Together with the Danish Technological Institute and the Danish Institute of Fire and Security Technology, GAIA Wood Technology has had their technology verified and tested through a knowledge bridge project, so that their method can better document the fire safety and penetration of impregnation liquids.

The technology will contribute to a higher degree of utilization of wood as a material, where the use of local wood is also an option, which will significantly reduce the CO2 emissions of buildings.
