Smartflow
Challenge:
In many cases, sewerage systems are old, poorly mapped and difficult to access. Expanding and improving the system requires significant investment from the local community. These investments need to be cheap and robust to cope with increasing and more unpredictable rainfall.
At the same time, the systems should be able to be monitored to predict peak loads to optimise maintenance and expansion.
Solution:
Through a partnership, startup SmartBrønd will use their prototype solution “SmartFlow” to fulfil the sector’s desire for low-cost and robust measurement of the sewerage system. Using IoT, AI analytics, data collection and precipitation mapping, SmartFlow will transform meteorological forecasts into load forecasts for specific systems. The solution will act as a flow meter that only have to be supervised every fifth year.
Together with Aagren Tech, they will build the prototypes, where Lemvig Vand og Spildevand will participate as an end user.
In the long term, the digital solution will be able to help climate adapt the sewerage systems and at the same time balance the costs internationally and nationally.
