From kitchenblender to circular paper factory
Papirværk gives paper waste a new life – from kitchen blender to circular paper factory in Odense
Papirværk is fighting for a world without paper waste. The team collects paper waste from companies and institutions in Denmark and circulates it into new products made from 100% discarded paper. From the circular paper factory in Odense, the products end up back with the companies or as exclusive, handmade products in Danish homes.
From kitchen table idea to Danish circular production
Papirværk was founded in 2020 by Jonas Thorup Langelund. The first six months of development quite literally took place in the kitchen, where the first products saw the light of day and the foundation for a circular concept was laid. In 2022, Jonathan and Sebastian joined, and today the three friends run Papirværk with a clear ambition: to combat paper waste through Danish, responsible, and circular recycling.
Handmade quality – without glue, chemicals, or wood fibres
At Papirværk, paper is seen as a valuable resource that deserves a new life. All products are made in Denmark from 100% recycled paper waste – without added glue, chemicals, or wood fibres. The result is natural, honest paper products that keep CO₂ emissions to a minimum, help companies in the circular transition, and offer a better, more responsible alternative.
“We create products from 100% paper waste – so our customers can have a circular paper product made from their own paper waste,” says Jonas Thorup Langelund from Papirværk.
The value of the Clean community
Papirværk is a member of Clean to be part of a strong professional community with access to sparring and resources that push the company forward.
“We are a member of Clean because the community provides great value – both through resources and the sparring that challenges us and keeps us sharp,” says Jonas.
